Talent Tracker: Who’s going where

The digital industry isn’t really about technology, it’s about people. Talent, the hunt for talent and its retention are the bedrock of the industry. NDA’s Talent Tracker column provides a regular update on which companies are recruiting who and from where.

Amy Kean has been appointed as Brand and Innovation Director and Partner at &us. Amy, an NDA columnist, was previously Head of Innovation at Starcom.

 VaynerMedia London announced that Becky McOwen-Banks will be joining the agency as its first Executive Creative Director. McOwen-Banks joins from FCB Inferno, where she was Creative Director for over five years creating award-winning work for UEFA Women as well as BMW, Nivea, NS&I and The Girl Effect. She will report to VaynerMedia London’s Managing Director Sarah Baumann.

Wunderman Thompson CEO Pip Hulbert has been appointed as new Chair of the IPA Effectiveness Board, a prestigious advisory group of client and agency leaders working together to develop and promote positive behaviour change with a focus on evidence-based decision-making.

In her role. Hulbert will lead the Board in debating how best to market marketing to the C-suite, manage marketing in day-to-day client-agency relations, and develop strategies to measure marketing in order to demonstrate effectiveness in delivering profitable brand growth.

Marketing consultancy, Nokamo, has appointed industry expert Martin Shaw as Growth Director. Shaw has 20 years’ experience in marketing, consultancy and business development with roles at companies including AB Inbev, McCann, Disrupt3d and Drummond Central.

Toluna, an ITWP company and leading consumer intelligence platform that delivers insights on demand, has made two strategic appointments as it prepares for growth in 2020 and beyond. The company welcomes Ron Ruffinott to the North America team as a Senior Research Solutions Consultant based in the company’s U.S. headquarters in Connecticut. Dixit Chanana joins as Country Director in India based in the Gurgaon office.

Games publisher Kwalee has hired a new Head of Ad Monetisation, Dilpesh Parmar brings over a decade of experience to his role, having a wealth of knowledge in the area across multiple businesses. Parmar joins from international ad network IQzone, where he departs as COO of their London office. In addition to this, Parmar’s CV includes a two-year tenure at Shazam, where he set up the ad monetisation for brands.

The RIPE NCC, the not-for-profit organisation responsible for the allocation and registration of Internet number resources across 75 countries in Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia, today announced Hans Petter Holen has been appointed Managing Director. Hans Petter has worked in the Internet industry for over 30 years and has served as the RIPE Chair since 2014.

 He co-founded one of Norway’s first commercial ISPs, Oslonett AS, and has most recently worked for Visma – a leading business solution provider in Northern Europe – as IT Director and Chief Information Security Officer.

 IPsoft, the largest independent leader in enterprise AI, has announced the appointment of Faisal Abbasi as Managing Director for UK & Ireland. As Managing Director for UK & Ireland, Faisal will help grow operations across the two countries, working closely with the company’s CEO and Founder, Chetan Dube in New York. He will lead on the expansion of IPsoft’s presence in these regions.

Optimizely, a leader in progressive delivery and experimentation, announced the appointment  Lawrence Bruhmuller as Chief Technology Officer, based in Optimizely’s headquarters in San Francisco. Having successfully led engineering teams previously at WeWork, Clearslide, and Symantec, Bruhmuller joins Optimizely’s senior leadership team to further drive the company’s business momentum.

Tech talent specialist, mthree, has appointed Chris Bell as head of sales, as part of its ambitious growth plans. Chris has 34 years’ experience in the talent, managed services and recruitment process outsourcing industries, with more than 20 of those spent in international sales roles in world-leading talent solutions organisations.

Manchester-headquartered digital adoption solution specialist, AppLearn, has boosted its workforce by nearly 20% as it focuses on strengthening its product offering. Key hires have been made across the company’s software, data and product teams, as the business grows its international customer base.
