Tech for Good: YourCustomersSayThankyou

The digital industry often shows it’s best side in times of crisis. NDA’s new series showcases those companies who are helping and the solutions that they are building.

A new online hub is launched enabling shoppers to say a personal thank you to the tens of thousands of supermarket and essential retail workers serving at the frontline of the UK’s Coronavirus response.

YourCustomersSayThankyou.co.uk will provide a platform for customers to post and share their gratitude for their local store’s key workers, who are braving unprecedented conditions to keep people in food and supplies.

Shoppers are being urged to take a few minutes to send their personal thanks and praise via the new portal, to show just how much this extraordinary service and dedication means to local communities in such difficult times.

Comments will feature on the site’s live feed, alongside a map to show where the supermarket, store or key workers is based in the UK.  The portal will also route comments directly to stores so that staff can hear directly from their own customers, providing a valuable boost to morale in the months ahead.

The campaign is being championed by The Grocer, the UK’s leading food and drinks industry title, which will feature a live scroll of comments on its website throughout the crisis. Adam Leyland, editor of The Grocer, said: ‘This site is a great way to thank all the brave and hard-working staff who are making sure the shelves are stocked and there’s plenty of food to eat. We know shoppers are grateful but it’s not easy, in the current shopping environment, to say a proper thank you. Crucially, with this website, you can call out the staff at a specific store, and the message will get through.’

The new website was created by customer feedback specialists Critizr. Their CEO Nicolas Hammer said: ‘Customers are especially grateful to their local staff at the moment, for keeping shops open and continuing their service with great humanity and personal sacrifice. These staff are frontline heroes who deserve to be recognised and thanked. We hope that this new hub will provide a place for customers to publicly share their messages, stories and appreciation, whether it’s a local supermarket team going the extra mile for the elderly, or an act of kindness from a member of staff at the corner shop. Acknowledgement and thanks will go a long way to boosting spirits and a sense of pride amongst shop workers and their colleagues over the coming months.’
