SmartFrame Technologies appoints Dal Gill as Chief Revenue Officer

SmartFrame Technologies has named Dal Gill its new Chief Revenue Officer as the image-streaming and contextual-advertising company looks to expand its commercial operations.

Gill joins with a brief to grow revenue, develop partnerships with brands, agencies and publishers, and scale SmartFrame’s contextual advertising offering internationally. He brings more than 15 years of experience across digital media, programmatic advertising and adtech, with previous roles at Spotify, Seedtag, Yahoo and Mail Metro Media.

At Spotify, Gill held a senior position within the company’s global advertising organisation and was involved in launching its programmatic advertising business across EMEA and APAC. He subsequently joined Seedtag as Global Head of Programmatic, where he worked during a period that included a €250 million investment from Advent International, and led the company’s expansion into the Middle East.

The appointment comes as SmartFrame scales its SmartFrame Images platform, which offers publishers access to more than 55 million rights-cleared editorial images available to embed, alongside contextual advertising placements within those environments.

The company positions itself as a privacy-first alternative for advertisers seeking brand-safe, contextually relevant inventory without relying on behavioural targeting — an area attracting growing interest as third-party data signals become less reliable.

Dal Gill said the platform was well-placed to meet changing advertiser demand, pointing to rising privacy expectations and the growth of AI-generated content as factors driving brands toward trusted editorial environments.

Rob Sewell, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartFrame Technologies, said Gill’s background in scaling adtech businesses globally made him the right appointment for the company’s next stage of development.
