Spark Foundry, the Acceleration agency, today announces the appointment of Marcos Angelides and Kate Anthony to joint Managing Director, and Nigel Waring is taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer. The news follows a period of vast growth for the agency, in which it has seen its billings more than double.
In their new roles, Anthony will be responsible for growing and developing client relationships and agency culture, whilst Angelides will focus on delivering transformational ideas for clients and overall product.
This news comes shortly after Anthony joined the agency in the summer, from EssenceMediacom, in the newly created role of Chief Client and Transformation Officer.
Angelides has been a key contributor to Spark Foundry’s growth since he started nearly four years ago as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer. He has driven the agency’s strategic and planning product, been instrumental in key UK pitch wins and retentions (such as LVMH and Asda) and has accelerated the agency’s adoption of new technology. As a ‘LinkedIn Top Voice in AI’, Angelides is leading the discussion around AI both online and for clients, and has set up the agency’s AI department.
The pair replace Nigel Waring, who is taking on the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer after a successful six years as Managing Director. In his new role, Waring will continue to be responsible for overseeing agency resource and operations across its growing portfolio of clients in the UK.

All three will report into UK CEO, Pete Edwards, and work closely with the wider executive team; Steve Corley, Chief Commercial Officer and Kudzai Mubaiwa, Head of Performance.
