Publishing house Immediate has appointed Guljeet Samra as Director of Acquisitions and Social Media. The newly created role will be focused on developing full-funnel digital marketing strategies and driving customer demand for Immediate’s category leading brands.
Immediate’s portfolio includes Radio Times, Good Food, BBC Gardeners’ World and Nutracheck.
Guljeet has extensive digital marketing experience in both the media and fashion industries, including senior leadership roles at Hearst, Trinity Mirror, Dennis Publishing and The Guardian. Most recently Guljeet was CCO for Percival Menswear and CMO for Kick Game, creating full-funnel marketing strategies to build customer demand and product development roadmaps.
Driving digital subscribers is a key strategic priority for Immediate, building on its long-standing expertise in the print subscription market. Immediate has 1.1 million subscriptions, now with more digital subscribers than print for the first time which have surged by more than 100% year on year.
Standout performers include fitness tracker Nutracheck which has added more 100,000 additional paid subscribers since Nutracheck joined Immediate in November 2022, while Good Food has recently hit 126,000 digital subscribers.
Guljeet Samra says: “I’ve joined Immediate because I wanted to work with brilliant people and brilliant brands – Immediate has both. I’m excited to be part of the next chapter.”
Jess Burney, Immediate’s Managing Director, Customer Marketing and Subscriptions, adds: “I’m delighted that Guljeet has joined us to drive customer demand for our much-loved category leading brands. We have had a very strong 2024 so far with digital subscriptions up more than 100% and Guljeet’s commercial expertise will further accelerate our growth.”
