Former IPG CEO named as Advisor to 51toCarbonZero

Former IPG Craft and McCann Worldgroup Canada CEO Simon Sikorski has joined carbon measurement platform 51toCarbonZero (51-0) as an Advisor.

Leveraging his more than 25 years of experience, Sikorski will be responsible for expanding 51-0’s business across North America, with a primary focus on media, marketing, and creative agencies.

“The shift to more sustainable business practices has really grown over the past few years. Net-zero planning is now not only a necessary business strategy, but also a competitive advantage,” said Sikorski.

“My experience as a leader of adtech, production studios and agencies, as well as the varied clients I’ve supported throughout my career, gives me a holistic perspective on the benefits associated with sustainability. I look forward to working with agencies and their partners to not only measure carbon impact, but also adopt new ways of working that will leverage success, as net-zero continues to be a priority across all sectors,” he continued.

“I worked with 51-0 in my previous role and was impressed by how the team makes the often-daunting journey of carbon measurement and net-zero planning a simple task. Sustainability is a personal passion; I believe everyone has a contribution to make, and was therefore keen to work with 51-0 and amplify my enthusiasm for a greener industry.”

Prior to joining 51-0, Sikorski was President of Global Operations at XR Extreme Reach, where he was responsible for building out XR Extreme Reach’s shared services capabilities. He previously held CEO positions at IPG’s IPG’s Craft and McCann Worldgroup Canada.

“Simon’s appointment as Advisor is a major win for 51-0. His vast experience of working with agencies and clients globally combined with his passion for sustainability, make him a powerful asset to have on our team,” said Richard Davis, 51-0 CEO.

“This new addition comes as 51-0 sets to bolster its operations in North America, which coincides with new sustainability regulation coming into effect in many states. We want to support clients within advertising and other industries to meet ambitious climate targets and renewable energy goals, by enabling them to measure and ultimately eliminate their carbon emissions. We have no doubt that Simon will be a fundamental force in helping us bring the advertising industry closer to net-zero.”
