Global programmatic media partner MiQ has announced three key promotions across its senior executive management team to bolster its European expansion and drive a fast multi-market growth strategy. Giles Ivey has been promoted to EMEA CEO (previously UK CEO), Van Sideras has been named EMEA COO (previously UK MD), and Freddie Turner moves to the role of UK MD (previously Strategy Director, UK). A stalwart of the industry, Ivey joined MiQ almost three years ago having previously been a Non-Executive Board Member and then Global CRO at Avid Media. Prior to this, he was Managing Director, UK, at Collective, where he oversaw the acquisition of the company by Time Inc. UK. Drawing upon his leadership and experience of building MiQ’s UK and global business, Giles is tasked with replicating this success across EMEA, continuing to report to Richard Dunmall, President of MiQ, with the support of the new senior executive team.
Over the last 9 years, Van Sideras has risen through the ranks of the trading team to be MD of the UK business. His new challenge as EMEA COO will be to bring the UK and DE teams closer together, as well as servicing and growing the EMEA business effectively from new markets over the coming years. His experience in trading is invaluable, and he will continue to lead the EMEA trading team, as well as looking to bring to life our trading services for agencies and clients. Having worked for both holding companies and independent agencies, Freddie Turner will lead MiQ’s UK business into a period of continued growth and opportunity. Turner joined MiQ from Agenda 21 over two years ago and has been pivotal in the evolution of MiQ’s product story, worked closely as a lead with MiQ’s data scientists, engineers and analysts in Bengaluru, and advanced its omnichannel and cookieless offering. With her move to UK MD, Turner will also take a leading role in MiQ’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility in the UK.
Global media platform Teads has announced the appointment of Heather Unsinger and Ben Eason who both join as group director in the US. Unsinger will be responsible for overseeing the growth of Teads strategic CPG and Auto clients, whereas Eason will use his client development experience to grow Teads’ agency partnerships. Prior to joining Teads, Unsinger worked as VP of sales at Triad Retail Media where she led the general merchandise retailer team. Previously she ran the auto and insurance verticals on eBay business. Eason brings more than 20 years of experience leading significant client growth across multiple verticals including Retail, Auto and Dining. He joins Teads from Conversant, where he worked as SVP of client development. The company has also made a number of promotions including RJ Pauloski to managing director, Canada, Monique Pintarelli to SVP of sales, West Coast, Kari King to SVP of sales, Midwest, and Matthew Doherty to SVP of sales East Coast. In addition to these promotions within the Teads sales team, the company has also made two senior promotions with Eric Shih promoted to chief supply officer and Eric Tourtel to CEO Latin America. Antonella La Carpia has been promoted to VP, global marketing, with full responsibilities now including video and design teams around the world.
IRIS Software Group (IRIS) has announced that Jim Scott has been appointed as its new Managing Director for Accountancy. Scott joins following an illustrious career in accountancy, bringing more than 25 years of experience in helping growing businesses create transformative strategies and build teams and systems to execute them flawlessly. He will be driving forward IRIS’ evolution, leading the accountancy offering, and focusing on meeting the needs of the main market sectors IRIS serves – accountancy, education and human capital management. Prior to joining IRIS, Scott worked at Sage for twenty years in both operational and strategic roles, working with the likes of Apple, US Bank, Telefonica, American Express and more. This included leading Sage’s Accountancy division, creating and executing a European-wide strategy for its small business audience and delivering its global partner programme. More recently, he has advised several businesses, defining their strategies and implementation plans, and is a mentor for the NatWest Accelerator programme.
Mobile industry thought leader Ben Phillips is to join Hawk by TabMo as the company’s first Non-Executive Director (NED). Phillips has spent 17 years working in the mobile advertising space, from creative platforms and technology to developing and activating mobile and digital strategies for global brands; he has won various awards, including five Cannes Lions, in the process. His career-path includes five years at MediaCom as Global Head of Mobile, spanning the period of the channel’s widespread expansion and adoption. This was followed by the role of Vice President of Strategic Accounts at mobile location data company, Blis, where Phillips worked with agencies and brands direct to overcome challenges and drive return on their advertising investment. Phillips’s hands-on experience of mobile’s evolution will support TabMo as it continues its expansion. The company currently has offices in the UK, France, Germany and the US; the newly-created NED position is one of several hires planned for 2021 to support clients’ increased use of its Hawk platform.
Danish tech company Adnami, which specialises in programmatic, high-impact advertising solutions, has further strengthened its team with the hire of Kathryn Nixon as Publisher Partnerships Manager and Sam Levy as Commercial Activation Manager. Nixon has extensive media experience, most recently at Chinese DSP, PapayaMobile, where she worked across a number of projects including the launch of a new eCommerce platform as Business Consultant. Prior to this, Kathryn held the position of Head of B2B at Encore Digital Media and managed large multi-million-pound accounts at Reach Plc, having started her career in Account Management at City AM. Meanwhile, Samantha Levy joins as Commercial Activation Manager. Levy will work with Adnami’s partners during the onboarding process; ensure campaigns exceed expectations; and focus on nurturing new accounts and growing existing relationships. With many years of industry experience, she was most recently at independent ad server, Flashtalking, and has worked with a range of clients including P&G, Paddy Power, Visa and Kia.

Contextual A.I. company seedtag has announced the appointment of three new members of its leadership team. Emilia Kirk, appointed as seedtag’s Global Head of Growth, has more than 15 years of digital advertising experience within the contextual and native advertising space. With professional experience combining sales, business development and product innovation, she will be responsible for scaling the business to new heights. Prior to working at seedtag, Kirk launched and acted as CRO at Avid, who provided the first native Demand Side Platform (DSP) in the UK. Alongside Kirk, seedtag has also appointed Jordi Capdevila as Head of Marketing, bringing extensive experience as a marketing and technology leader. The Manchester arm of international digital agency Dept has welcomed four new digital experts. Lavinia Alexoiu is Dept’s newest Senior UX Designer, joining after a three-year posting at Accenture Interactive where she worked as Senior Product Designer and a UX Designer. Lavinia is an experienced end-to-end designer, skilled in taking digital products from discovery all the way to launch and beyond. Ali Marler also joined Dept in March as a Designer. With four years’ experience working in creative agencies, most recently at The Drawing Room in Manchester, her specialist skillset in branding, digital and print design is a great addition to the team.

Savings app Chip has announced the appointment of Tom Evans as their new Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, Evans will lead product and engineering teams with the aim of building and delivering new features, including the upcoming Investments Platform and the hotly anticipated ChipX. Evans, who joins from 10X Banking, brings over 24 years of experience in software development and engineering. Prior to moving into the fintech space, he led engineering teams at Ocado and Amazon.

Future Processing, a software development company, has announced that it has expanded its UK team with three new senior members of the team.
