Newsworks, the marketing body for the UK’s national news publishers, is to launch a new research report, ‘Youth’, examining the relationship between young people and traditional news brands, at a special quiz event in London on Thursday 14 November.
Jo Allen, CEO of Newsworks and Heather Dansie, Research and Insight Director, will make a short introduction to the event, presenting key findings from the research and dispelling 10 common myths about the media consumption habits of the younger generation.
Then, a trio of ‘Agency Legends’ will take on a team of ‘Rising Stars’ in the Newsworks Generation Game, a quiz designed to reveal which generation really has their finger on the pulse of the news agenda.
Hosted by comedian Laura Smyth, as seen on BBC’s Live at the Apollo, the quiz will include ‘missing word’ and picture rounds, and will be staged live in front of an invited audience of media planners.
Rupert Smith, Director of Communications at Newsworks said: “Report launches can be very dry affairs so we always like to do something a bit different to get our message across. The Newsworks Generation Game is set to be a great night of fun quizzing, plus plenty of free food and drink to keep our audience in good spirits.”
The event takes place next Thursday 14 November at 6pm at music bar Eastcheap Records, 20 Eastcheap, London EC3M 1DT.
