Reddit has appointed its first Vice President of Ads Product, enlisting the services of Jyoti Vaidee. Reporting to new Vice President of Ads Product and Engineering Roelof van Zwol, Vaidee will drive ads product strategy, execution, and management of the ads product organisation, which sits at the centre of Reddit’s monetisation engine.
Vaidee joins Reddit from Google, where she spent more than 11 years in senior roles across ads products and monetisation. Most recently, she led product for Google’s display ads business, where she played a part in ads innovations including dynamic product ads, as well as driving products across Google shopping ads and YouTube.
Prior to Google, Vaidee spent eight years at Microsoft, working on products including Outlook and Xbox.
“This is an exciting time for Reddit as a newly public company with so much untapped potential. The platform is leading the way in creating community and fostering authentic connections with very real commercial results,” said Vaidee. “I’m looking forward to helping advance Reddit’s ads business and driving increased value for users and advertisers alike.”
Vaidee’s appointment, and Van Zwol’s role expansion, comes as Shariq Rizvi leaves Reddit following fives years as Executive Vice President of Ads Monetization. Over that half a decade period, Rizvi built Reddit’s ads platform, led pivotal acquisitions, and oversaw several ads product launches.
“Shariq’s leadership over the last five years transformed Reddit’s advertising solutions and experience. He has built a strong and enduring foundation for Reddit ads,” said Reddit Chief Operating Officer, Jen Wong. “We wish Shariq every success for his next chapter and thank him for setting us up for success with ours. To that end, I am thrilled to welcome Jyoti to our team and know her unique experience will serve us well for Reddit’s next phase of growth.”
