Reddit debuts first UK marketing campaign

One year on from its official UK launch, Reddit has launched its first brand marketing campaign in the nation, showcasing some of the communities that people can be a part of on the platform.

The ‘Maybe Together We’ll’ campaign shares some of the subreddits and content people can find, and the togetherness that can be found, on the social platform. In addition to running across digital, over-the-top video, and addressable TV, the campaign will appear across London on out-of-home placements at locations including Waterloo Station and Westfield London, as well as within 26 tube stations.

“Community is always at the heart of our marketing efforts and our first campaign in London is no different, though this is the first time we’re showcasing local UK communities at such scale,” said Roxy Young, Chief Marketing Officer at Reddit. “’Maybe Together We’ll’ is a celebration of Reddit’s passionate online communities and aims to serve as a reminder that anything can happen when people unite around things they care about. We hope it will encourage more people in the UK to dive into our platform and find their community.”

To take charge of the UK business, Reddit has also appointed a new General Manager in the shape of Laurelle Potter. She’s tasked with setting the strategic direction of Reddit in the UK, focusing on continuing to build out Reddit’s local communities and user base, and helping to scale the platform’s ads business.

Potter will join Reddit next month from Tinder, where she served as Marketing Director. She was also previously Marketing Director at Snap, leading the EMEA launch of Spectacles.

“I’ve enjoyed a long career in marketing and tech, but my passion lies in working for community-driven brands that enable people to connect with one another. Reddit is the home of community, and I look forward to using my years of experience in fostering intimate connections to deliver this on a larger scale, helping to propel Reddit’s mission of bringing community and belonging to all,” said Laurelle Potter, UK General Manager at Reddit.

“Reddit weaves together the best of what social platforms have to offer, and there is a huge opportunity to ensure people in the UK understand its value and benefits. I am so excited to share the Reddit story and help bring its magic to life so that individuals and brands in the UK see what I see.”
