Bauer Media Audio UK launches new audio product, Rayo

Rayo, the new audio platform from Bauer Media Audio UK has officially launched, offering one service to listen to more than 50 stations, hundreds of curated playlists and a range of on-demand content.

Available as an app, on the web, and smart speakers, it is the destination uniting all of Bauer’s world class audio, with unique and relevant content for listeners.

Home to stations including Absolute Radio, Magic, Greatest Hits Radio, KISS and more, through Rayo, listeners can discover more content including personalised recommendations for radio stations, playlists and podcasts based on their listening habits.

Simon Myciunka, CEO for Bauer Media Audio UK, commented: “Radio is flourishing more than ever before, and audiences can listen wherever and whenever they want thanks to the rise of connected devices such as smart speakers, mobile apps and web devices. These platforms offer a much deeper level of personalisation, which is attractive to listeners and advertisers alike. We’ve spent a great amount of time developing Rayo to meet both needs, and we’re really excited to take our audiences into the audioverse with the amazing human connection that radio offers.”

Simon Kilby, Managing Director of Bauer Media Advertising, said: “Bauer is already ahead of the market with connected listening, and the on-air launch of Rayo marks a real step change as we further increase our focus in this area. With the ability to unlock increased targeting and personalisation, the scale and richness of what we can offer commercial partners through our digital audio advertising offering will be considerable.”

The on-air launch for Rayo has commenced today, with stations across Bauer Media’s UK portfolio promoting the platform thorough a series of promotional trails and live reads. Presenters including Ken Bruce, Tyler West and Penny Smith can also be found on brand social channels and the newly launched Rayo pages, showcasing the Rayo app.

Bauer’s online station aggregator Planet Radio has relaunched as ‘hellorayo.co.uk’, with its ecommerce solution ‘Planet Offers’ being retained, and continuing to offer an integrated on-air and digital advertising platform for advertisers.
