Specialist influencer marketing agency Buttermilk has hired Caner Daywood as its new Global Senior Social Strategist. He joins from his role as Global Senior Social Media Manager (TikTok Lead) at Charlotte Tilbury, and has over 10 years of experience in omni-platform content strategy. Daywood will be responsible for steering end-to-end influencer creative strategy and overseeing multiple strategy and brand planning projects. He is the lead creative strategic force behind new influencer work, supporting in planning, connecting and elevating content for Gen Z, with a clear focus on TikTok. He is overseeing multiple strategy and brand planning projects with a greater focus on thought leadership, developing the agency’s value proposition and cultural connections including working on Buttermilk’s ‘gold standard’ guidelines and widening its strategy offering.

ABBYY has announced the appointment of Chip VonBurg to Chief Customer Officer (CCO), reinforcing ABBYY’s commitment to helping its customers achieve their intelligent automation goals faster. VonBurg is a veteran leading impactful customer-success initiatives and, as a member of the executive management team, will focus on ensuring its customers worldwide leverage ABBYY intelligent document processing (IDP) and process intelligence solutions to put their information to work and transform their data into more intelligent actionable outcomes. VonBurg has been in the automation industry for more than 20 years and has previously served as VP of Customer Success and Director of Professional Services at ABBYY. He understands the common challenges and needs customers have through his vast experience and profound comprehension of related technologies such as business process management, search, natural language processing and machine learning.  

Tactical, the global creative and innovation agency, has hired Jose M. Sanchez as Head of Creative. Sanchez will spearhead the company’s mission to leverage creative, technology, and data, enabling leading brands to shape culture across the globe with unmissable marketing campaigns. With a proven track record of leading teams and clients, such as Uber, KLM, Sephora and Deliveroo to success, Sanchez is tasked with leading Tactical’s global creative team, while ensuring the company is set up for quality, speed and scale. This will include implementing technology and AI solutions to enhance Tactical’s creative processes and provide enhanced data-driven insights for clients. Sanchez joins from Miro where he was Creative Lead for Production. During his tenure, he was responsible for creative development across a range of formats and channels, leading a team of creatives and producers. Prior to that, he was Global Head / Creative Director for Creative Studio at Smartly.io. In this role, he led the global team of creatives and received a number of awards including the Facebook Storyteller Award at Cannes Lions.

Anzu.io, the in-game advertising solution, has announced the appointment of Luc Marsolais, COO at Sharethrough, as a strategic advisor. Marsolais brings a deep understanding of how DSPs and SSPs operate — allowing him to navigate the intricacies of programmatic advertising effectively. This is thanks to working for over a decade at Sharethrough, an independent global ad exchange, and District M, which merged with Sharethrough in 2021. He is also a member of the IAB Tech Lab, Prebid, and a number of other advertising-focused committees. Marsolais joins a well-rounded team of strategic advisors, including Ex-Global Chairman and CEO at Y&R David Sable, Global Chief Revenue Officer at Captify Jack Bamberger, Former Global CMO at Wunderman Thompson Jamie Gutfreund, Founding General Partner at Bitkraft Ventures Jens Hilgers, Former SVP APAC at AdColony Tom Simpson, and President and Chief Business Officer at NBCUniversal Krishan Bhatia.

Wired Sussex has appointed new director of innovation Samantha Harland to the team to help the non-profit membership organisation as it continues to act as the voice for tech, digital and media businesses on a local, regional and national level. Harland joins Wired Sussex with extensive experience of working with startups and small to medium-sized businesses at organisations such as Plus X and NatWest Accelerator in Brighton and with major corporations including Unilever and Diageo. She plans to use her connections to help Wired Sussex collaborate with other organisations in the region and to lead innovation projects which will help the wider business community around the region adapt to changes in digital and technology, such as AI, SEO, and many more. Harland’s role will involve promoting Wired Sussex’s innovation hub the FuseBox and taking its regular Show and Tell sessions out on the road in the region, where businesses share the groundbreaking projects they are working on.

Ozone, the digital advertising platform built for brands, by publishers, has announced five internal promotions as it welcomes four new additions across the business. In the commercial team, James Mapley has been promoted to the role of Client Services Hub Lead working across Group M and Publicis, while Ryan Savage has moved into the position of Senior Client Services Manager with a remit focused on working in partnership with Ozone’s independent agency patch. Both continue to report into Emma Crantson, Ozone’s Client Services Director, who also welcomes new Client Services Executive Juliana Boateng into the team. Elsewhere across the business, Katie Brown and Neya Bhatia have both been promoted to the role of Campaign Manager reporting into Lucille Brune, Ozone’s Head of Trading, while Hope Hui has been appointed to the role of Data Scientist, reporting to Antonio Nunes, Ozone’s Head of Data Science. Ozone has also welcomed a number of additional new starters throughout the month of August, with Dhara Barchha joining as Agency Sales Partner from Sky’s marketing team, and Hugo Altman who arrives as Agency Sales Executive from Starcom’s programmatic unit. In addition, Ash Mckimm will take on the role of Marketing Operations Manager, with a specific focus on events, and joins the company from Quantcast APAC.
