DJ Agahi is MD, Sabio, We asked who his digital hero is.

Who is your digital hero?

Aziz Rahimtoola, CEO/Founder of Sabio Holdings.

    What has he done to win hero status in your eyes?

    After a successful career in Fortune 500 Media companies and global adtech powerhouses, Aziz realised there was a gap in the marketplace for understanding and reaching culturally diverse audiences.

    Subsequently, he decided to launch Sabio to increase representation in media and help brands reach diverse audiences. Sabio has since expanded into a proven general market partner across the CTV/OTT landscape, providing precise audience targeting. 

    What’s truly most impressive is Aziz took a risk and invested in building Sabio’s proprietary technology from the ground up. Instead of outsourcing or white labelling another DSP, Aziz built his own.

      How has his heroism helped drive digital?

      Before diversity was a buzzword, Aziz (who is of South Asian heritage) built one of the first adtech companies whose main USP was their ability to help brands reach people with diverse backgrounds.

      Aziz’s heroism has helped drive digital by pushing for a much needed focus on diversity in the industry.

        What the biggest challenges in digital that we need another hero to solve?

        TRANSPARENCY!!! Specifically in the UK, there is a lack of transparency across the digital/CTV ecosystem. Speaking from an Adtech perspective, CTV has become a buzzword across the UK.

        Digital companies continue to purport an expertise that they lack, causing agencies to be sceptical of all actors.

          What is your most heroic personal achievement so far in digital?

          I’m most proud of the fact that over the course of my first year in-market, I have established Sabio as a transparent, honest and reliable CTV partner.

          These partnerships range from large agency holding companies with extensive media planning and buying experience, to independent and boutique media agencies with limited experience in the space.

          Although we are an established company in the US, building out our CTV offering in the UK from the ground up, has been personally exciting and rewarding!
