Industry Insight: Index Exchange’s Matt Barash on the changing face of Dmexco

Programmatic Image

Post-pandemic and with the UK and International events scene booming, how vital is Dmexco today? NDA caught up with leaders across the industry to hear their thoughts. Next up is Senior Vice President, Americas + Global Publishing at Index Exchange.

If you’re going to Dmexco, why are you going/ if not, why not?

To effectively manage a global business, you have to spend time with your customers in their local market and lean in where the action is.

The industry is in a state of perpetual evolution and what may feel mature in the Americas may be nascent in Central Europe. I’m excited to talk about video, macro industry trends, privacy, and the shifting landscape.

How important is Dmexco in the industry event calendar?

The scale of Dmexco might not look the same as it used to but still serves as a one-stop shop to meet with all the key players in the market.

As we enter the sprint towards Q4 it’s a great event to reboot discussions that may have slowed during the summer months.

Is it still as international a show as the likes of. Cannes Lions?

I think we can expect to see plenty of familiar faces walking the floor at the Koelnmesse. The pandemic definitely made it easier to “Zoom” around the world, but nothing beats in person interactions.
