JCDecaux, in association with New Digital Age (NDA) is launching a new free-to-enter awards event to shine a spotlight on the very best integrated programmatic digital out-of-home (pDOOH) campaigns from the UK over the past year.
In a twist to the secretive, behind-closed-doors judging process normally associated with ad industry awards, the JCDecaux Programmatic DOOH Live Awards will be judged live at an engaging, interactive afternoon event in London.
Alongside an expert judging panel, the gathered audience will be able to cast their votes for the most innovative campaigns, while the public will also have their say on the People’s Choice award.
NDA editor Justin Pearse commented: “In a relatively short space of time, pDOOH has established itself as one of the fastest growing and most exciting channels available to advertisers. The flexibility of the channel has allowed tremendous creativity and innovation, with pDOOH capable of playing a variety of important roles within an omnichannel campaign. NDA is delighted to partner JCDecaux in launching these new pDOOH-focused awards.”
Mark Bucknell, Chief Commercial Officer, JCDecaux UK, said: “Having watched the pDOOH landscape evolve over the past five years, we’re proud to launch the UK’s only awards designed to specifically recognise the most innovative and impactful campaigns created by agencies, technology platforms, and brands.
“By breaking free from the conventional awards scene, we’re proud to bring to the market an awards series with a difference. The combination of our panel of judges from across both the programmatic and out of home industries and live audience voting will ensure a rigorous, objective, and fair way to recognise the best of the best.”
The JCDecaux Programmatic DOOH Live Awards 2024 are completely free to enter with an ‘audition tape’, light-touch entry process that doesn’t require a lot of time (or budget) to complete.
Dom Kozak, Head of Programmatic, JCDecaux UK, commented: “The level of innovation and creativity in pDOOH is truly distinctive – I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing the growth of pDOOH from the very first tactical activations five years ago to the nationwide always on campaigns we see on a daily basis today. I can’t wait to see and honour the pioneering media innovation, intelligent use of data, and strategic media mix selections I know we will see shine through the entries.”
Dan Larden, Head of Media at ISBA, who will be part of the judging panel, said: “The media awards landscape has arguably become a bit stale with the same format rolled out every time. The JCDecaux pDOOH Live Awards will be a refreshing and openly democratic vision for recognising and showcasing the best of the industry. I’m really excited to be a part of it from the outset.”
