TikTok are marking the 2021 edition of the Cannes Lions Awards by launching the #CreativityForGood Hashtag Challenge.
#CreativityForGood gives creators from around the world a platform to use their creativity for positive impact, and come together to amplify the important work of non-profit organisations.
Participants are invited to produce a TikTok-style campaign or advertisement for one of the four partnering non-profits, or another cause they are passionate about, and post it on TikTok using the global hashtag #CreativityForGood.
This challenge aims to showcase artistry, expressiveness and individuality while allowing the TikTok community to participate. Participants are asked to think outside of the box and develop new, fun, and unique ways to showcase the non-profit of their choosing.
TikTok has partnered with four global non-profit organisations to address a wide range of important issues, including education, humanitarian aid, wildlife conservation, and diversity and inclusion. In addition to direct donations from TikTok, the #CreativityForGood showcase will highlight the following organisations:
- Malala Fund: Founded by student and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, Malala Fund invests in education programmes to help girls go to school and reach their full potential.
- It Gets Better Project: A non-profit organisation with a mission to uplift, empower and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth around the globe.
- IFRC: The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian network that reaches 150 million people in 192 National Societies through the work of over 13.7 million volunteers.
- One Tree Planted: Environmental charity One Tree Planted is dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world.
Beginning today, the #CreativityForGood challenge will launch globally through the Discovery page of the TikTok app.
