June Angelides: How investors think about brand potential

“It’s our responsibility as investors to ensure we are backing good people”, stated June Angelides, VC at Samos Investments & Founder of Mums in Technology at last months 99//Club Digital Festival. “People who will build inclusive cultures, shaping teams that reflect the real world and the customers they serve”.

So how does June know, as an investor, whether a brand will be successful and is worth investing in? Firstly June emphasised the importance of finding out if a brand has that magical ability to stand out in an ever-increasing online market. Secondly, she said “I strongly believe that the building blocks of the brand should be the community. Customers create the brand and they should be front and centre now more than ever”.

NDA will be publishing highlights from the Festival, run in partnership with MAD//Fest, over the coming weeks.

The week-long invite-only festival was a collaboration between MAD//Fest and New Digital Age. Over the course of five days, 99 speakers debated topics across themes including media and tech, customer experience and personalisation, brand experience and creativity and innovation for growth.
