Michael Kassan kept his cards close to his chest as he spoke at his first industry event today following his March departure from MediaLink which has prompted a legal case with parent company UTA. Kassan dropped some sizeable hints that he wants to stay in the industry, despite the ongoing legal battle about whether the former MediaLink CEO can start a new venture in the space.
Kassan described his breakup with MediaLink as “a lot of noise” and “divorce, Hollywood style”.
“This is an industry I love,” Kassan went on to say. “I will continue to add value to this industry.” He said he’ll do that through the “three C’s–consulting, convening and co-investing. Those three words mean a lot to me. What means the most to me is this audience and this industry.” Tellingly, the fourth C – Cannes was not mentioned despite Kassan being linked with the event many times over the last two years
In a slightly awkward moment the current MediaLink MD, Mark Wagman, came up on stage immediately after Kassan’s session but did not refer to what had just been said.
