Two major names in the esports gaming community have announced a partnership. Horizon Union, “creator-first” esports organisation teaming up with Sorare, an online sports gaming platform. Horizon will create digital football gaming content for Sorare, and this partnership will officially launch later this year.
Horizon, founded in 2017, brings together diverse esports creators to develop and deliver digital gaming content. They have a significant emphasis on “creator-first;” supporting their creator’s long-term interests is their core principle, alongside promoting authentic influence on international brands.
They are heavily involved in FIFA, which also seems to be the main focus of their Sorare partnership. They previously partnered with UFO games in 2021, making this the second time they have partnered with an online gaming organisation that incorporates NFTs, indicating that entering the NFT world is certainly a new area the online gaming community is embracing.
Horizon co-founder Will Mollett comments: “We have seen Sorare skyrocket in the fantasy sports space, creating new and engaging experiences for fans from announcing Messi as an ambassador to partnering with the Premier League. We and our creators are thrilled to partner with Sorare to bring their unique football fan experience to gaming audiences together.”
Sorare, launched in 2018, is one of the most popular online sports games with over 300 million users globally. They implement blockchain technology which allows fans to collect and trade player cards from the world’s top sports leagues, compete in fantasy sports games and win prizes.
