Talent Tracker: Xandr, Tried&True, LinkedIn and more

Xandr, AT&T’s data-enabled technology platform, has announced the appointment of Ammar Jawad Doosh as Senior Director, EMEA Product Management, as well as five recent new hires for Xandr’s marketplace team, specifically focused on curation, as Xandr’s Curate solution continues to grow in popularity with clients. Doosh brings extensive industry experience and expertise from his previous roles at The Trade Desk, Expedia Group, Radiant Worlds and Ubisoft. He joins Xandr with ten years of experience under his belt including a focus on buy-side marketing and programmatic advertising. He also brings strong domain expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence, increasingly important topics for the advertising industry.

Tried&True have welcomed seven new members to their team as well as making several senior appointments. Kirstie Looms has been appointed as Tried&True’s new Director. Looms’s digital career began in 2007 and she has had a number of impressive roles over her 15-year marketing career. Looms was the Head of Marketing at a premium lifestyle clothing brand and whilst working as a freelance marketer, worked across a multitude of industries. Tried&True has appointed Sammy Altman as their Head of PR & Social Media. Altman has worked in PR & social media for over five years both client and agency side. Altman’s experience spans multiple industries and she specialises in both B2C and B2B marketing. Alongside Tried&True’s senior appointments, Holly Parker has been hired as General Manager, Dave Wilkinson has joined as a Digital Strategist, Ross Lowe has started as Tried&True’s Junior Graphic Designer and both Heather Page and Henry Marshall have been hired as Marketing Assistants.

LinkedIn has announced that Ngaire Moyes has been appointed to Vice President of International Brand and Communications with immediate effect. In her new role, Moyes will be responsible for leading LinkedIn’s integrated Brand Marketing and Corporate Communications team across EMEA, LATAM and APAC regions. Prior to her promotion, Moyes was Senior Director of Brand and Communications across EMEA, LATAM and APAC. 

After launching two new properties in 2020 and preparing for the launch of Ultima Courchevel  Belvédère for the upcoming ski season, Ultima Collection has recently appointed Group Marketing  Director, Ricardo Gato, who has a wealth of experience marketing luxury travel brands such as  Cookson Adventures and NetJets, leading both brands with their growth worldwide.

Software solutions company Spicy Mango has appointed Matt Wright as Digital Design Director, effective immediately. Wright brings over 20 years of experience developing innovative ways for audiences to engage with brands and products. Having worked previously for O2, BBC, ITV, Visa and HSBC, Wright’s customer-first approach, eye for visual design and team management skills means that he is flexible to adapt to multiple projects while collaborating and contributing to the best outcome of the team. Having led the design for specific campaigns such as Money Mentor for The Times newspaper, Wright is keen to bring these experiences to drive and maximise Spicy Mango’s customer’s journey. 

TDC PR has appointed Rachel Bowen, former group account director of ScienceMagic.Inc (formerly The Communications Store) as director. Prior to joining TDC, Bowen headed up communications for The Crown Estate across its central London portfolio under her remit as group account director at ScienceMagic.Inc. Here, she delivered integrated services from brand strategy and influencer marketing to social media strategy and channel management. Bowen also worked on luxury international consumer brands and destinations including the Four Seasons Hotel, K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong, Michelin star and award-winning restaurants including Simon Rogan and his UK group of restaurants, ROKA group, Oblix in the Shard and Bao restaurants, as well as festivals including Taste of London.

eCommerce customer service specialist eDesk has appointed Eileen O’Mara, the EMEA revenue and growth lead at payments platform Stripe, in the post of non-executive director. Responsible for strategically driving scale across EMEA  at the financial infrastructure firm, O’Mara will bring her considerable tech experience from working across global operations and share it with board members including eDesk CEO Alex Payne and founding chairman Ray Nolan. Prior to joining Stripe, O’Mara has held senior international roles in revenue and marketing at Salesforce and Oracle, using her expertise to consult on transformative technologies. 

Real-time Consumer Insights Platform, OnePulse, has boosted its leadership team by appointing David Ashiru to drive its global sales. Ashiru joins from data analytics and brand consultancy Kantar, where he worked for over three years as the Development Director on the media division. Prior to this role, Ashiru worked at PPC competitive intelligence firm AdGooroo, acting as UK Business Manager. At OnePulse, Ashiru will drive the sales strategy in the UK through mining and uncovering new opportunities and clients. He will be initially supporting the UK client base and continue to expand further into EMEA.

Contact-free mobile payment service, SwipeStation, has announced the appointment of Nick Barnett as Client Services Director to bolster its executive team and strengthen the management of the company’s growing client portfolio. Nick Barnett joins SwipeStation having previously worked at Gloucester Rugby as Bar Operations Manager. In addition to an impressive nine years at Kingsholm Stadium, Barnett has managed bar services at a number of globally renowned venues including, Ascot, Ashton Gate, Wentworth, Silverstone, Welford Road and a number of festivals. 

Appgate, the secure access company, has announced the appointment of Fiona Doak as Director of Channel Sales EMEA. With more than 25 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry, Doak brings a strong track record of creating and managing successful channel partner programs and will play a pivotal role in the strategic development and execution of Appgate’s channel-first sales business model across EMEA. Prior to joining Appgate, Doak was EMEA Partner Director at Duo Security, a position she held for more than three years, where she worked closely with the partner ecosystem to build trusted relationships and develop a forward-thinking channel partner program that put indirect sales at the forefront of the business’ ongoing sales strategy. Doak has also held senior channel director roles at TrapX Security, WhiteHat Security, InfoBlox, F5 Networks and RSA Security.

Pindrop has announced the appointment of Collin Davis as its first Chief Technology Officer to continue evolving Pindrop’s contact center solutions, including fraud, IVR, and authentication as well as define and envision its additional IoT offerings. Davis joins Pindrop from Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he was a general manager for Productivity Apps, leading three AWS services, including Chime, WorkMail, and WorkDocs. Prior to that, he founded and launched Alexa for Business to help customers voice-enable their conference rooms, lobbies, hospital rooms, hotel rooms, and warehouses. Before AWS, he was vice president of endpoint protection at Symantec, where he led the engineering and QA teams that built the suite of Norton security products. 

Independent PR agency The PHA Group has announced the appointment of two new hires in its Technology division, to support its growing B2B technology arm. Rhys Merrett has joined PHA as an Account Director from City Road Communications, where he spent six years leading tech, finance and corporate client accounts. Having worked with private banks, online brokerages, B2B tech companies and corporate firms, Merrett will also spearhead increased integration across PHA’s Corporate division to deliver strategic communications briefs. Sarah Redman has joined PHA as an Account Manager after five years at GingerMay, where she specialised in B2B sectors including AdTech, MarTech and GreenTech. Having trained as a journalist, Redman joins an agency in PHA that was founded upon journalistic principles, with a number of former journalists now working across the business. The pair will work closely with Consumer Technology Account Director Lucy Steadman to support the growth of PHA’s Technology division this year and beyond, under the direction of Head of Technology PR Ben Cossor. 

The Loyalty People has announced the appointment of loyalty innovator Tom Peace as the company’s new Managing Director. Having joined the business as Chief Revenue Officer in 2020, Peace will take the reins of this fast-growing global network of loyalty consultants to lead its commercial strategy, partnerships and new business. Peace is one of the loyalty industry’s most respected experts, with over 15 years of experience in analytics and customer engagement roles at the likes of IRI, Aimia, Reward Insight and Collinson. He is a specialist in strategic programme design, building technology solutions and new loyalty trends, such as card-linking, real-time data analytics and experiential loyalty, working across a wide range of sectors including financial services, retail, food and beverage, travel and FMCG.

Ve Global has appointed Nick Roberts as Marketing Director. With over eight years’ experience driving high-growth demand generation programmes and marketing plans, Roberts joins Ve Global from crowd testing company Global App Testing, where he led the marketing team for over four years building acquisition and brand awareness and delivering revenue for the business’ SaaS solution. Prior to this, Roberts was the Senior Marketing Manager at DefenseStorm, where he was responsible for all aspects of inbound marketing, as well as developing customer, product, and event marketing campaigns. Also joining the team is former WhosOnLocation Product Marketing Manager Rhian Greener, who will take up the same role at Ve Global later this month. Before pivoting to product marketing, Greener spent over four years in creative copywriting for AnalogFolk, where she wrote editorial content for brands including Sainsbury’s, Costa Coffee and Booking.com.

Cohesity has announced it has named Richard Gadd as vice president and general manager, EMEA sales with immediate effect. A proven technology sales and business development leader with almost three decades of experience in EMEA, Gadd will manage the company’s business and sales operations throughout the region. Gadd will play a key role in continuing to accelerate the rapid growth and adoption of the company’s multicloud data management solutions. Gadd joins Cohesity from Hitachi Vantara, where he served as senior vice president and general manager EMEA for five years and, for 2 years before that, as vice president and general manager for the UKI. Prior to Hitachi Vantara, Gadd spent more than eight years in various senior leadership roles at EMC. He has also previously held leadership and sales positions at Computacenter, Morse, and Xerox. Gadd will report to Michael Cremen, chief revenue officer, Cohesity.

Starship Technologies has announced that Alastair Westgarth has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Westgarth has more than 30 years of experience and was most recently CEO at Alphabet’s Loon, which started as part of X, Google’s Moonshot Factory, and focused on bringing internet access to unserved and underserved communities around the world via a network of balloons operating on the edge of space. He has deep tech expertise and has built and run several companies. Prior to joining Loon in 2017, he served as CEO at Quintel Solutions, was a vice president at Nortel and director of engineering at Bell Mobility. Westgarth holds a degree in electrical engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
