Journey Further research highlights marketer confidence gap

Research from Journey Further has found a gap between UK marketers’ confidence in their discovery and measurement strategies and the results they report from those systems.

The Brand Discovery Index surveyed 400 senior marketing leaders in the UK and US, including 200 UK respondents managing at least £1 million in annual media spend. Among the UK respondents, 97% said they were confident their brands were visible where customers discover them, while 74% said they had seen high visibility and impressions fail to increase consumer preference or demand.

The research also found that 94% of UK marketers are actively optimising assets for large language models and AI search engines. Meanwhile, 83% said traditional linear funnels still accurately represent how customers discover and buy, while 68% reported significant drop-off between brand awareness and conversion.

The survey was conducted by OnePoll between 27 July and 3 August 2026 across retail and e-commerce, manufacturing, technology and financial services.
