Talent Tracker: Robin AI, Channel Factory, Visionaries Club, Spark Foundry and more

Robin AI, the AI-powered legal copilot, has announced the appointment of Scott Casey as Chief Financial Officer. The strategic hiring follows the recent completion of a $26 million Series B funding round, positioning Robin AI to lead the fast-growing legal AI sector. Scott Casey brings an impressive track record of over 30 years in financial leadership, with significant expertise in helping organizations establish the right financial systems and processes to successfully scale. Prior to joining Robin AI, he built and led finance and operations at BigID as the company scaled from its Series A funding round through to a Series E unicorn valuation. During his career, Casey held pivotal roles such as VP of Finance at MySpace during its hyper-growth phase and played a key role in establishing the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function at Zynga before the company went public. More recently, Scott has led the finance function for companies including Tumblr, PlaceIQ, Curalate and BigID, an AI-powered data security company.

Channel Factory, the global brand suitability and contextual advertising platform, has appointed Kartik Mehta as Head of Asia – Growth Markets. Bringing with him over a decade of experience in tech sales, Mehta will be solidifying Channel Factory’s position in emerging markets, whilst aiding Channel Factory’s sustained global growth through enhancing and localizing its global strategy. Since 2013, Mehta has gained invaluable experience across technology sales with his most notable achievements centering around market expansion. This includes launching and building out emerging markets in Asia/South East Asia, Middle East and Africa, for the likes of Vserv, YouAppi as well as  the expansion of Silverpush into North America and the UK. Within his most recent role as Chief Revenue Officer/Chief Operating Officer at Silverpush, Mehta played a pivotal role in establishing and growing the global business from its inception in 2017. Under his leadership, the company expanded its footprint to 15+ geographies, achieved double-digit million dollar earnings, introduced new revenue streams through programmatic partnerships with the likes of IrisTV, Pubmatic and garnered multiple industry awards. 

European early-stage investor Visionaries Club has strengthened its investment team by promoting Bobby Jäckle to Partner. Jäckle, who has been part of Visionaries since the firm’s inception, has played an integral role in the fund’s growth. He joins a partner group that includes Rob Lacher and Sebastian Pollock (Founding Partners of Visionaries Club) and Sahar Meghani (leading Early Growth fund). In his new role as Partner, Jäckle will co-lead Visionaries’ seed fund together with Marton Sarkadi Nagy, working closely with Visionaries’ portfolio companies, including Leapsome, Apron, Workflex, pledge, automated, Court Correct and Hakuna. 

BlackLine, Inc. has announced that Camille Drummond has joined the digital finance transformation leader’s board of directors, effective March 15th, 2024. Drummond will draw on her 36 years leading finance and global business process services at oil, gas, and energy leader bp to support BlackLine’s long-term growth trajectory, help extend its market leadership, and elevate its position within the Office of the CFO. Drummond currently serves as SVP of Global Business Services at bp, overseeing worldwide finance, procurement, customer, and HR business services teams. During her tenure at bp, she has also held several senior finance roles including CFO of Gas Trading Europe.

Spark Foundry UK has announced the appointment of Emil Bielski as the new Chief Executive Officer for the UK. Bielski brings more than 20 years of experience in digital transformation, data and product strategy and will be responsible for leading the 400-person strong agency in its next phase of growth. He takes up the role after three successful years as Managing Director of global digital agency, Croud, where he also oversaw delivery teams across EMEA and APAC. Prior to this, Bielski was Chief Strategy Officer at iProspect UK, leading product, technology, data and planning. In his 20 years in the industry, Bielski has also held several senior roles at agencies including Maxus, MEC and GroupM and has experience across a range of sectors including Retail, Financial Services, Travel, Telecommunications and FMCG. Bielski will report to Niel Bornman, CEO of Publicis Media UK. He also joins the Publicis Media UK management team, working closely with sister agency leaders to maximise their collective capabilities, deliver greater value to clients and continue to attract and retain the best talent in the industry.

Nest Commerce, the full-funnel performance agency, has made two new hires, appointing Beatrice Quarshie and John Clarke as joint Heads of Paid Social. Quarshie’s previous role was at MG Empower where she managed paid media activity including influencer marketing. She has worked for a number of brands including the White Company, ASOS and Levi’s. Meanwhile Clarke worked at ecommerce agency Genie Goals where he implemented paid social activity for a number of brands including Mamas & Papas, Biscuiteers, and Lucy & Yak.

System1 Group PLC, the creative effectiveness platform, has announced two new US-based senior commercial appointments to build upon its recent client wins and revenue increases and drive the company’s next stage of US and global growth. Massachusetts-based Mike Perlman joins System1’s executive team as Chief Commercial Officer, with global responsibility for commercial functions across the business. Perlman is a 20-year veteran of the marketing analytics industry with significant experience scaling and leading go-to-market operations at multiple companies, including as a two-time Chief Revenue Officer (TVision and Jumpshot) and through senior roles at Comscore, Millward Brown, and Compete. Miami-based Alex Banks joins System1 as SVP of Business Development for The Americas with responsibility for expanding System1’s client and partner base across the US, a key growth market for the company, and Latin America. Banks has been supporting the world’s largest brands with data, research, and advisory services for more than 20 years, including in previous roles at The Economist Group and Comscore where he led both US and international sales teams. He has lived and worked in New York City, San Francisco, Spain, Mexico, and Brazil, and he speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese. Perlman will partner with Chief Customer Officer Jon Evans to lead System1’s overall commercial business, while Banks will be responsible for business development in the Americas.

International specialist marketing and commercial growth agency, ramarketing has announced a senior leadership appointment as it continues to expand globally. Melissa Pattinson will develop and execute ramarketing’s financial strategy, overseeing the financial and commercial health of the agency. In her role, she will identify investment opportunities for global growth whilst minimising fiscal and operational risk to take the business forward. After nearly two decades of working in finance, Canadian-born Melissa brings a wealth of experience to the business. Following the completion of her training at one of the Big Four accounting firms, PwC she worked within several organisations across the public and private sectors in North America and the UK. Her appointment will contribute valuable insights and drive innovative financial solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the sector.

In order to effectively expand further into the retail media market and continue to serve its retailers, Kevel is announcing the expansion of its senior leadership team with the addition of former Frame.io Chief Revenue Officer Puja Rios joining the company as President / COO. Her strategic appointment comes at a critical time for the business as it looks to capitalize on the retail media momentum, with its recent announcement that the company has raised £18M in Series C funding. With over 25 years of experience in the software industry, Rios has a proven track record of scaling revenue, building high-performance teams and delivering stellar results. Rios focus will centralize around the next phase of growth for Kevel, expanding the company’s client base further into the retail media sector.

Pixel Artworks, a global immersive experience studio, expands its senior team by bringing in Simon Graham as Creative Technology Director. Graham will report directly into Head of Studio Miranda Pincott and will be responsible for ensuring the application of creative technology works in harmony with the studio’s creative vision and client needs. With over two decades of experience bringing cutting-edge immersive experiences to life working for creative technology manufacturers, immersive experience creative agencies and live event and television production companies, Graham has produced some incredible hybrid physical and digital experiences in new and original formats. Prior to joining Pixel Artworks, Graham served as Head of Technical Innovation at Immersive International. His past projects include work for clients such as Samsung, Louis Vuitton, The United Nations, Bloomberg, and the UK Government. He’s also been part of the teams behind TV shows like Strictly Come Dancing and The Voice, and live events like Arcadia Spectacular, Dragon Slayer, The Secret Garden Party, Leeds Light Night, and The TUC Congress.

Mediatool, the Media Collaboration Platform, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jean-Daniel Germain, known as JD, to the pivotal roles of France Country Manager and Global Luxury Lead. JD brings a wealth of experience from his distinguished career in the global communication industry. With an impressive 14-year tenure at Dentsu, one of the world’s foremost communication groups, JD has consistently demonstrated strategic acumen and leadership. His most recent accomplishment was spearheading the growth of the Global Media Hub of dentsu and iProspect in Paris, transforming it from a single talent to a powerhouse of 50 global media makers. Under his guidance, the hub provided international media services to esteemed clients such as Kering, Estée Lauder Companies EMEA & Groupe SEB. As the Global Client President of iProspect, the Full Funnel Media agency of dentsu, JD played a pivotal role in the agency’s relaunch in 2020. His contributions to the global leadership team were instrumental in shaping iProspect’s success. 

parcelLab, the premier global retail, e-commerce, and post-purchase customer experience platform, has announced the appointment of Noel Hamill as Global Chief Marketing Officer. Hamill will define and execute parcelLab’s global go-to-market strategy and vision, overseeing all marketing functions and helping to transform the customer journey to fuel the company’s next stage of business growth. Hamill brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles for dynamic, private equity-backed SaaS companies. He most recently served as Global Chief Marketing Officer at PG Forsta, a SaaS technology platform providing technology, data, and expertise for research, healthcare, and customer experience measurement. Hamill was previously CMO of Ladbrokes Coral, where he was responsible for brand development and strategy, voice of the customer, public relations, social media and events.
