PayPal brings in Seeley as new CMO

PayPal has welcomed Geoff Seeley as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Reporting to Diego Scotti, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Group and Global Marketing & Communications, Seeley will be responsible for overseeing the global marketing team across PayPal’s brands.

Seeley – who boasts more than 25 years of marketing experience – is tasked with making sure that the PayPal and Venmo value propositions are clear, compelling, and simple for customers, while reenergising the brands by leveraging PayPal’s history, product portfolio, and consumer trust.

“Geoff has a rich and impressive background leading marketing teams and building brands across some of the biggest global companies,” said Scotti. “Geoff brings over 25 years of expertise in transforming global consumer and B2B brands by leveraging cutting-edge digital and performance marketing and building strong teams focused on enhancing brand awareness and engagement with customers.”

He joins PayPal after serving as Global Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Block inc.-owned platforms Cash App and Afterpay. And he previously worked as Global Head of Marketing at Airbnb, where he oversaw the regional, brand, social, and embedded product marketing teams for the company’s Homes business.

Earlier in his career, Seeley had stints at company’s including Pearson, Unilever, and Ogilvy. He also spent over three years as Chair of the World Federation of Advertisers Integrated Marketing Communications committee.
